This Means War

Day 84. The enemy’s numbers are increasing. Our watermelon home base is overrun and they’re gaining in strength every day.

I’ve tried everything. Waterboarding has no effect on them.

In a bold flanking maneuver, they’ve come into the side of the planter box and fried the zucchini.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. I’m escalating to insecticidal soap and neem oil tomorrow.

They’re making me verrrry angry...

  1. I had this problem with a tomato plant about a month ago. As a last effort before pulling it up, I sprayed it with a mixture of Dr Bronner's Peppermint soap, fresh garlic and water. I'm happy to say that my tomato plant has fully recovered.

  2. Some plants may be sensitive to neem oil. Check for phytotoxicity first. Do not apply to drought-stressed plants or when temperatures are very hot or cold. Don't apply oils to blooms.

  3. Thank you both! I'm monitoring the [censored] bugs daily and hope to overcome them soon. Wanted to unleash a horde of ladybugs, but couldn't find any at the local nursery.
