End-of-Summer Harvest

It's a great feeling to go to the Farmers' Market and know that your backyard has everything they're selling. All I needed to buy was honey! The rest was harvested this afternoon.

  1. I haven't found anything that compares to the intensely satisfying feeling that comes from harvesting my own food and cooking it for my family.

  2. Tomatos, cucumber, bell peppers, basil, still waiting for green onion to look like more than skinny weeds. Also lavender -- LILLY

  3. I only have one non-herb plant in my little container garden and that's the sunchokes. They hardly grew at all, and never even came close to flowering. So I'm not going to even try to harvest. Hopefully there's at least one bulb in the soil that will sprout next year!
