Why Didn't I Think of That? Wednesday

Each Wednesday I'll share a tip to make your week go more smoothly or just make you say "aha!"

Summertime barbecues mean lots of family and friends traipsing through your house--potentially where they aren't wanted. If you're throwing a party and want to keep the upstairs private or closed, grab a wide ribbon and make a pretty bow to block the stairway.

Mama's Back!

Getting ready for Thumbelina's arrival (Baby Thumb? Brown Thumb Baby?) derailed us for a bit, but now I'm back. Our summer plans changed a bit--some of the front yard garden is mulched and not planted, and I didn't get as many veggies started as I would have liked.

Weeding and planting is tough with a watermelon tummy, even with professional assistance from Jackjack. Here, we're planting our "Purple Ruffles" basil seedlings and hoping the weeds don't overtake the artichokes. Hopefully the nasturtiums and poppies in the front will spread and keep the weeds down.

The parts that aren't weedy are looking great!

Stay tuned for more garden updates plus homemade "hacks" for the foods Baby decided she just can't live without. Nope, not pickles and ice cream--you'll see!
